Remember to respond to YKA’s Labour Market Study

YKA conducts an annual Labour Market Study to map the distribution of its members across industries, their positions, employment situations, and salary developments. The survey helps the union monitor trends in the social sciences sector and advocate for the interests of social science professionals in the labor market.

The Labour Market Study is more than just statistics – it provides a window into the everyday work and future of YKA members. YKA has been producing Labour Market Studies since 1994: initially every other year, and annually since 2002. The 2025 study is the twenty-eighth report on the employment situation of YKA members.

“The results are used to guide our advocacy and serve as the basis for our salary advisory services. They also concretely show who we, as social science professionals, are in the labor market. The results of our surveys have also been used to study the long-term career paths of graduates in the field,” says Nuutti Pursiainen, YKA’s Chief negotiator.

A record number of members responded to the 2024 survey. This year our goal is to break that record again. The invitation was sent by email to all working-age YKA members on Monday, 3 November 2025.

Dear member, remember to respond to YKA’s Labour Market Study and help us build even stronger advocacy!
