YKA’s autumn member recruitment campaign launches today on 1 September and carries on throughout this month. The campaign is particularly aimed at students in the social, political and administrative sciences. The aim of our campaign is to welcome all old and new students to our community of social scientists!
Even though the world of work may seem remote for new students, it is also the area that students have the most questions about. This is why YKA will spend this September sharing topical facts about working in the social sciences.
“It is very worthwhile to join your union while you are still at university, because when YKA’s student members graduate, they are one step ahead of other students. They are already familiar with the ground rules and networks in their field, as well as their employment rights.” begins member acquisition planner Ida Kettuoja.
“In addition to facts about working life and advocacy, I also want to remind students that we are above all a professional community for social scientists. Our services include extensive member benefits, such as a variety of insurance policies, internship and thesis sparring, workshops on working life skills, and valuable discounts on hotels and travel, to name a few,” Kettuoja says.
During the recruitment campaign, students can join YKA using the code SYKSY2025, which gives them free membership for the rest of this year. The campaign runs from 1.9 to 30.9.2025. The campaign discount applies to the student membership fee, membership in the unemployment fund is sold separately.
Joining YKA pays off: you’ll get access to numerous valuable benefits, professional training to deepen your expertise, and become part of a community of public affairs professionals. If you join during September, you’ll receive the rest of the year’s membership for free. Read more about the campaign here and apply for membership!
