Our member recruitment campaign aimed at social scientists acts as a reminder on why it is more important than ever to be part of a Union: YKA is here to support social scientists through the transformation of work, salary negotiations and even when life takes a sudden turn.
“We want to remind everyone who is of working age that life is not meant for work, work is meant for life,” Ida Kettuoja, YKA’s Member acquisition manager, summarises the message of the recruitment campaign.
Kettuoja reminds us that while 33 percent of YKA members work for the government, the skills in analytical thinking, communication, administration and social responsibility are also sought after in the corporate sector. Kettuoja hopes that the important message of this campaign will also reach those working in the private sector.
“Society works best when we really look after those who build it. That is why we here at YKA believe that every expert has the right to a balance between work and life, a fair wage and the opportunity to build on their skills. We won’t settle for just fixing problems; instead, we are actively building a fairer and more sustainable working life through long-term negotiations,” Kettuoja says.
